Carpets known to most of the outside world as Bukhara carpets are in fact made in Turkmenistan. There is an infinite choice to be found at the famous Tolkuchka Sunday Bazaar in Ashgabad. Exporting them is not simple - all carpets must be certified eligible for exportation and duty has to be paid on the size and quality of the piece.
