Nile delta
Here a field of corn is bordered by an irrigation ditch down the middle - a wider irrigation ditch is in the foreground by the banana trees. A variety of irrigation methods are used throughout the delta - here the water is pumped out of the Nile and into a cistern into which it is then pressure-fed into smaller canals and ditches.
