This young boy is one of many participants in a competition of Koran recitation. The goal is to commit the entire Koran to memory and to recite it perfectly. Not only is this an extraordinary feat in itself, but it must be recited in perfect classical Arabic, which is not the daily spoken language of Arabs today.
