Tunis medina

Tunis medina is famous for its doors which are often in a horseshoe shape featuring studded talismans to protect the occupier from the 'evil eye'. These take the form of the "Hand of Fatima" a stylized five fingered palm - five being an auspicious number in Islam, a fish - traditionally a Christian symbol and the Star of David, proof of our shared heritage.
