Frankincense tree

Frankincense tree

The strange-looking tree with its divine-smelling resin with medicinal, preservative and, some say, aphrodisiac qualities made the Sabaeans and other Arabian tribes very wealthy. Known as Bilquis in Arabic, the Queen of Sheba (Saba) is mentioned in the Koran for her visit to Solomon, undoubtedly to discuss the price of frankincense.
