Tomb of Ahmed ibn Issa al-Muhajir

Tomb of Ahmed ibn Issa al-Muhajir

Near Seiyun

Born in Basra, Ahmed ‘the immigrant’, as his name means in Arabic, was a fiery preacher whose oratory stopped any backsliding from Islam and won new converts in the 9th century. He remains much revered and his tomb is often visited by black-clad women on Fridays, and especially on ziyarahs, saint’s holy days.
